Minnesota River is one of the the most polluted rivers in Minnesota and is infamous for its high erosion. My design is to solve the problem of erosion.
I propose to slow the water velocity by building constructed wetland, so that flood can be mitigated. In addition, it will also improve water quality and rebuild wildlife habitats.
However, I realized that it is impossible to solve the problem without considering the upper stream. My site is located in the lower stream of the river, but my proposal also addresses similar problems up stream.
